Cherese was previously the Chief Equity & Inclusion Officer at KIPP Public Schools Northern California. Before that, she was Director of Instructional Leadership at the KIPP Foundation, where she supported KIPP’s network of over 200 school leaders. Cherese began her teaching in DC Public Schools. She joined KIPP DC in 2006 as a founding fifth grade teacher. Cherese completed the Fisher Fellowship in 2011 to found KIPP DC’s second elementary school. In 2014, she founded KIPP DC’s first school turnaround at the elementary level.
