KIPPTALKS
To realize the future we want for our students requires targeted investments in talent, growth, and securing alumni success. Listen as KIPP experts highlight the exciting initiatives that will make us stronger.
Investing in Leaders
“We spent thousands of hours reviewing the literature, studying our most successful principals, and discussing what makes a great school leader. And, when we looked at the research, we saw that most of a leader’s development — some 70%, in fact — happens on the job through experiential learning. When KIPP was first started, there simply weren’t enough schools where apprentices could train. But that’s not the case today. Today, because of our scale, we have many successful schools and school leaders — which makes our new Principal in Residence model possible.”
